Last Ganga boat trip

Hi All,

Last post from Varanasi before i head to a more relaxed place.
Goodbye to burning bodies, crowded ghats, sunrise and sunset Ganga boat rides, silk scarfs, glass jewelry and a million touts.
I will surely miss it.

Next post - from a relaxed place.

Going to a shop here is an experience - the sales man will through bags of shirts, scarfs or whats ever you want, and pull them all out to lay in front of you. the colors are dazzeling!

This store sells sugar coated anise candies that are just de-li-ci-ous! they come in every possible color (metalic extra charge).

The other side of ther Ganga is very relaxed, and from it even Varanasi looks quiet

We exchanged photo ops with this family - we took their picture and they took our picture with them. Everybody happy!

you just put the dried plants from the basket in water - et voila! you have a plant!

This cute girl sat at our table when we had breakfast and would only eat her Idly after it was sprinkled with sugar - kids are the same everywhere...

All the streets were decorated for the durga fesival, with fancy chandelirs, and now the sign to our guesthouse is well lit!

Ganga water pure!
In an attempt to persuade us that the Ganga waters are pure the boatman just gulped up Ganga water in front of our astonished eyes.

Piza temple
this temple is not standing up straight! As you can probably notice, the Ganga water level is very high, since its the end of the rainy season. From now on the level will go down

"You put shame on India!"
One day we were sitting on the street with the usualy gang of kids around us asking for "Biskit" or Rupee, when this older man begub\n shouting at them that they make us think all Indians are beggers and should be ashamed of themselves. A true patriot Indian!

Rikshaw hunt
This guy was riding behind our rikshaw and kept bumping into it every 10 seconds.

Who the hell put a mosaic of 2 packman figure on one of the Varanasi walls? do notice, the left one has a tika in the middle of his forehead :)

Durga temple
For the Durga festival, the Indians are building lots of fake temples, and not just small one, the temple in the background is being put up just for the holiday! Crazy Indians.
