Short description of my visit to temples today
13th December 2019. I started at 7.30 am and paid Rs 500 for visiting 5 temples in Autoriksha with waiting charges. Completed the tour by 9.30 am. All the temples in Kanchipuram open at 7 am and close by 12 noon and again open at 4 pm. Visited 1) Vaikunda Perumal temple (5 minutes for praying) 2) Ulakalanda Perumal (5 minutes) 3) Ekambareswarar ( 30 minutes .Rs 100 for the Video camera, Rs 20 for Digital camera) it is a Big temple, Shiva is the Diety. There is Sahasra linga means there is big linga on it small 1000 Shiv Lingas carved (When I visited Cambodia there was also on the river bedrock and surroundings rock small 1000 Lingas were carved) Can not take a photo of Diety. There is a queue . Paid Rs 100 for direct Darshan. There is a 1000-year-old tree trunk there . The gopura the entrance gate is very tall, 3 story building height. 4) Kanchi Kama Kodi Peetam (5 minutes) 5) Kanchi Kamakshi Ambal
Varadaraja Perumal temple-Entrance Gopuram-Kanchipuram-Tamil Nadu-INDIA
Varadaraja Perumal temple (Maha Vishnu)-Entrance Gopuram-Kanchipuram-Tamil Nadu-INDIA Devastanam (30 minutes) video and photo allowed outside the temple but within the compound wall, It is a clean and neat temple. There is a beautiful pond with 3 fountains and 4 gopuras not as tall as Ekambareswarar. Long queues so you will get very little time in front of the Diety to pray. But there was a separate queue, (must be paid) where you will be taken in front of the diety, where you can sit and pray. It was a nice visit.could pray peacefully. Skipped Kailasanathar temple which is little away, maybe above 4 km. It is a small temple. There is one Vishnu temple. Varadaraja Perumal temple. The gopuram was very tall. Big temple. There was no queue and quite spacious where you can stand and pray to the deity. This temple was also nice. This temple is just the opposite direction of all the above 5 temples little away. Om Namo Narayanaya/praise God !!!!
