Day 2 ......and a bit.

Battery died, no adapter so no pics…… guess you’ll just have to read :-)

Not a lot has gone down...... still knocking about in this big city....... the noise, the confusion, and the suicidal attempts at crossing.......eugh.
I have had an interesting ride in an auto (auto rickshaw) for a laptop browse...... my cousin (not Hema, the other one) has kindly decided buy one for my use there and he'll use it in Chennai when I leave.
Actually it’s was more death defying than interesting........ Driving in madras (Chennai) is like playing rugby in a nail-embedded pitch while trying (nonchalantly) to avoid an obstacle course made of squishy organic things that tend to leave behind messy residue...... twas fascinating...... our cabbies don’t have a thing on these unsung 3 wheeled grand prix drivers.

I got dressed up for this little evening outing..... In an old waistcoat and tee shirt combo hoping the last 6 months would have been time enough for it to transfer across........ not only was it a wasted effort, but the 99% male population in the electronics shop were the sweatiest bunch of homo sapiens iv ever laid eyes upon...... you'd think they would dress up for selling those ₤1000 laptops (took me an age to find the ₤ sign btw).while the electronics has transferred across very well, in fact id say I can get phone models here that are still awaited for back home....... not much of a prize difference though...... buggerins.

Today is Pongal btw...... a less commercially successful Christmas..... a ridiculous amount of hand pressed dumpling like food stuff is made to accompany it’s imaginatively named over cooked rice called Pongal. Pheripa (one of dad's older brothers.... the younger) says that it’s to celebrate the arrival of the harvest season. Seems like a good enough reason for a fry up.

Staying with pheripa pherima (his wife) and Ganesh (their kid, my cousin) in mylapore..... I thought id get some shopping done but every1 seems to have absconded and getting a taxi is a mission and a half……. So I guess my tearful reunion with mother will have to wait a bit.
