More favour than Kingfisher, cheaper, and higher alcohol content... I think I've found a winner!
Haywards 5000, India (Brewed in Rajasthan) - With a label that sports the trademark; ‘Super Strong Beer’, I had high expectations for this beer... and I wasn’t disappointed. It had a strong bitter lager flavour, much like my favoured Victoria Bitter (VB), which is both refreshing and manly. A quick review of the label showed that the alcoholic content was exactly ‘below 8%!’(MISSING)... good to know!

We found this beer in a local bar in Jaipur... we were the only customers and with one single light bulb we knew it was a local drinking den. Our waiter spoke very little English and showered us with peanuts and local snacks. Thinking we might be paying above the odds, we finished our session after 4 x 650ml bottles and were amazed to find it was only Rs. 100 (£1.30) per bottle and the snacks were free!! One to write into Lonely Planet about...
