Took off on a city bus for Amber Fort later in day. Very cool fort/palace complex. Was once an ancient capitol. Had huge doorways leading to fort as modes of transport in the day were elephants. The fort was built in 1592 and once you payed the entrance fee you basically roamed wherever you wanted. Lots of exploring. Walked the hill behind the palace to the hilltop fort of Jaigarh. Built 1726 and looks down upon Amer Palace. Was never captured as a a fort so was quite stable. I guess when you hold the largest cannon on wheels in the world, you are well defended! Took 100 kg of gunpowder and a 50 kg cannon ball per shot!!

My climbing the spikes on the Fort door. Spikes there to keep elephants from ramming it open with their heads centuries ago!!
