... to continue where i stopped the last time... I slept just a bit (2-3 hours) and it was time to wake up. Ride to the airport was uneventful, though not so short (actually, airport is some 350km away, of course our national airport is only 50km away, but hey - would be more expensive). What was probably the most exciting thing, was choosing my literature for the forthcoming trekking (yep, thats what you have to do, if you forget your books at home). I got two books, more will probably be bought in Leh 😊 I had a fixed idea what I want to read, but of course nothing was available... So, at the end of the day, I bought the book from Paolo Coelho "The Zahir" - book about obsession and another book from Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees (the first time i heard from them) Seven year itch... well, kindda story of my life... so...
So, Royal Jordanian flight to Amman. Good food, shitty legroom (damn, why do they have to put "boxes" where you are supposed to put your feet! On the way back I have to book window seat - more space) and unfriendly steward.
Short flight, and second flight from Amman to Delhi was a bit longer. But I prefer non-stop longhaul flights, at least you can sleep without any danger to miss your meal 😊 But this time... 3 and 5 hours flights... to short for anything else than short nap 😉
Finally, the pilot announces... dear passangers, we are shortly to land at the Indira Gandhi airport, please... bla bla bla... current temperature is 32C... bla bla bla... WAIT!!!! Current temperature is 32C??? Isn't it 5:30 AM??? 😊))
Yep, Delhi is HOT and HUMID. So, welcome to the jungle. We actually landed on a very special day - 777, 7 July 2007. And in India it was a wedding mayhem day. Everybody was talking about the date. And soon, during the drive to Karol Bagh, India was as I remember from 1,5 years ago... rikshaw left, rikshaw right, occasionaly a cow, crowd, ... ah, memories come back 😊
After a short nap lunch... straight to indian... directly to the vein... I was waiting for this kind a food for the past year (well, I haven't tried authentic Indian food in my country). So, I straight grabbed for some paneer
Jama Masjid
... this is the biggest mosque in this part of the world... some say in whole Asia... tikka masala and dhal. Overdose immediately... its good, that the last thing I ate in Europe was pizza... 😊))
To bring back old memories... and I'm after all in Delhi less than 24h this time I went for a short sightseing trip. Directly to Chandi chowk to feel some buzz there, to Jama Masjid (the last time I was there I was with a broken photo camera - damn),... and the place i didn't manage to visit last time - Red Fort... however... this fort is at least for me, huge disapointment... well, the Agra fort is sooooo much better, with lovely views on Taj Mahal... ok, I know I cannot have everything...
Anyway, early sleep, tommorow is another "early" day... plane to Leh departs at 5:20... when I come back to Delhi in some 2-3 weeks I will have more time to browse around...
