Greate write up..
I come from the educated class of India(Or so I think.) The one thing I liked about your write up is how you got it that people actually care and love in India. Might appear meaningless to western sensibilities that an Indian care for a foriegner whom he hasnt even met before, but thats how it happens in India(At least there is large number of people who do). That is also one of the reasons why slums are still there( Shoddy politics and spineless leadership are equally responsible), but, people dont want to tell some already poor people that, its against their pride that the slums exist. People rather just take it as life and ask the government to help them, hoping things will turn out right one day.
