The Ajanta caves are a world heritage site only a few miles from Jalgaon. The didnt disappoint. The caves are in a horse shaped ravine and were first disovered in 1819 by the brits out shooting tigers(whose grafity ruined some of the caves paintings). It housed buddist monks but was abandoned for unknown reason. Anyway they were pretty cool but i didnt think as good as Ellora(especially the Kalish cave). Some of the paintings were brilliant and some of the hollow columns were amazing aswell. The carvings of the buddha's(especially the sleeping one) that you can see in the photos were pretty cool aswell.

We tried to walk up to the mountain viewpoint were the british first spotted the caves but the throngs of beggers and people who may aswell be selling bags of shite instead of crafts easily put us off. Headed back to Jalgaon with the promise of getting my first beer in 7 days!!!
