Every season has its glory………… Bangalore the Garden city as they call
10TH April 2005 I arrived to Bangalore with no contact, no friends or nothing. My first instinct said run away, u are going to be lost in here, but I struggled through the sunny yet beautiful day. Driving around the city at 10 in the morning looking for my PG apartment cost me a lot of money. Finally came to the point where I saw 13 people standing in one big bungalow looking at a tiny little Indian rat walking into the house. I ran away, found a phone booth at the corner and called home pleading to come back. My colleague back in Goa gave me some strength to stay back and to taste the life there. Not knowing what the situation or future days will bring along, I took this challenge to stay back and experience the wonders of Bangalore.
Here I am today, writing about Beautiful Bangalore and the colours it got into my life.
April Burmese Pink Cassia, Walking the streets of Frazer Town to Benson Town was a view to remember. My first impression was wow…. The colours were
outstanding, there was a mixture of Pink, a dash of Orange and Red. A small button shaped bird eye looking into the nature, was a sweet and little pink Burmese Cassia. The name it self sound like a small delicate flower. Blooming out their wings spreading with freedom they gave the way to the summer.
May the streets of MG road was covered in Red with Delonix Regia, May Flowers they say. I took a drive from Infantry to MG road and walked all the way to Commercial Street. The streets were covered with the Red carpet of May flowers. Every step I took felt beautiful and got my childhood memories, when my grandma used to make a headgear out of these flowers and make us dance in the rain. Summer was in, and usually its Hot and Humid but Bangalore in summer was beautiful, fresh and colourful.
June to July, The Indian Laburnum, Cassia Fitsula were slowly fading the Red, brightening the city with lemon yellow flowers. This is amazing I said this city was different from others, Monsoons come heavily in India and all the vegetation is Green but Bangalore was Yellow. The flowers were
coin shaped hung on the tree brunches, somehow it reminded me of money coins stuck on trees no one could miss the brightness as the entire city was covered with its Yellow blanket.
August to September the City looked like fire ball… Orange yellow flowers, the African Tulips they say, big fat bunches of Tulips were hung on dark green tree. Moreover they look of it says a small Orange colour Bird nesting on the bark of the tree. Charming and shy like a small Girl they faded away the Monsoons bringing the sunny side more beautiful of Bangalore then ever.
October to November, I love this season 2 reasons to celebrate them. October I celebrate my Birthday and autumn season of love. The chill air you have around, the morning glory u get, the cent of nature u feel towards the evening, just about everything you want in this season was beautiful. Bangalore was crowded with the cent of Millingtonia Hortenis. White, small tips of snow flakes, hanging in bunches on a tall tree.. The City looked liked city of Angles with its White wings spread across.
December , The snow flakes of Millingtonia Hortenis were
slowly truning in to a pink carpet of Christmas with Tabebuia Impetiginosa. It’s a massive tree with no leaves but only Pink flowers. Perfect way to celebrate Christmas and to welcome the New year. The feeling of warmth and the sounds of Christmas Carol’s blended well with the seasons colours. Chasing the Winter, the pink Romance was in… Winter of 2006 what a memory!!!!!!!!
January, wow……. I did leave home for Christmas and when got back to Bangalore was amazed with the changing colours. Sunny Yellow… Tabebuia Chrysanta, the Golden Trumpet. I thought August was more Yellow with the coin shaped flowers but sorry this time it was Golden Bright Yellow…….. The City was looking brighter then usual. Beautiful weather, sunny, chilly, and the colours did set the mood for all the possible happiness in the world. I used to walk home sometimes from work and on my way I remember there were 7 to 10 trees hahahah I loved that colour it makes me happy. Even though I had a shitiest day at work I would smile, the Yellow carpet was set for my way back home.
February the month of Love , Purple Jacaranda was the
seasons colour. Love was in the air giving the warmth feeling for everyone in love. Purple flowers were celebrating the month of love. Lavender in Netherlands is nothing compared to These Purple dream flowers of Bangalore. No that was a Joke, but on a serious note Purple city, is impossible to have anywhere else.
March Baby…..White Ipe Tabebuia Roseo Alba ..Baby Pink mixed with Violet now what you called that colour?? Whatever that was pale, pink Purple was the mood for the Season. Devoted to the Bangalore Gardens all over , the city Parks were all set with Spring approaching with these flowers. With Inspiring thoughts one can sit under the tree and just daze.
These were the 12 months I had in Bangalore with its amazing colours all through out year. The breath taking view of flowers, the charming sound of wind, the cent of flowers in winter and the bells of summer was an adventure itself.. Touching yet inspiring this city will never be enough. My souls was a sound sleep, deep in the amidst of this engraving nature, pulling me towards its mellow sounds.
Bangalore the Garden City…….
