The provisional itinerary is as follows:

0. Arrival in Bangalore at midnight Friday 26th.

1. Sunday or Monday week 1: Bangalore to Hospet (due North, 8 hours by bus or overnight train), then daily trips to Hampi.

2. Thursday or Friday: due South 8 hours by bus to Mysore.

3. Saturday mid-day: train back to Bangalore (2 hours).

4. Monday: Bangalore to Pondicherry (due East, 8 hours), possibly with an overnight stay in a small rural town (Tiruvannamalai)

5. Thursday: back to Bangalore.

6. Flight on Friday night.
