Lunch at Bob's Inn
King fish in goan style curry Goa in monsoon! People would say what are you going to do there in monsoon....shacks and beaches are closed. Well I have really enjoyed the shacks and beaches number of times, getting drunk and going into the water. So I thought time for a change, let's get wet in the rain in Goa and not the sea.We reached Mapusa by bus from Pune on a Friday morning and was amazed to see how green and cool Goa can be. No burning sun and getting tanned. I was glad to dump my sunscreen and goggles. So we checked in into the hotel early in the morning at 730AM. They were very cooperative to let us do an early check in although they had a check in time of 2PM. I
Lloyd's speciality
Crab meat stuffed with ricotta cheese was too eager to leave the hotel and have breakfast in a shack somewhere by the sea.So we left and hired an activa for 200 bucks. Being monsoon it was cheaper. And we set out to find a good breakfast place. We were determined to try out new places to eat. There were not many options during early hours in the morning and hence we ended up in one of the shacks along the Candolim beach. It was windy and the sea was roaring with high waves.Although the breakfast wasn't too good. But we were too famished to complain about it.Later in the day we left for Fort Aguada. The ride was fun in the cloudy weather, the view was more green. Then we rode towards Sinquerim beach

Sinquerim beach which is along the Vivanta by Taj. We spent our time there watching the giant waves crashing against the rocks. Then we again rode back towards Candolim and started looking for places for a good meal.Monsoon is the time when there is no fishing. So there is less of fresh sea food. You can enjoy the local cuisines and there are lot of them out there. So we discovered this little cozy place called Bob's Inn on the Candolim road. And we started with a pint of beer and crispy chicken. Then we enjoyed king fish in Goan style curry and beef steak in black bean sauce.
The afternoon went by with a sweet nap and swimming
in the hotel pool in the evening.
Then for the evening we set out to find Lloyd's steak and grill. If you really want to experiment with food you should not miss Lloyd's.
They were small previously. Now they moved little bit on the country side and a bigger place. The ambience was nice. They start getting filled up around 9PM. Their cocktails were good. We tried roasted pepper bloody marry and plum based Martini.
Then we tried a delicious crab meat stuffed with ricotta cheese. That was yummy.
Since this is monsoon there are not many places to party. So the day ended with reading books and watching the TV in the hotel.
Ciao!
More to come for the rest of the days...
