Hi everyone,

I will try to fill in some of what we have done from Delhi on.

We had arrived in Delhi with Nick (who was on his way to Mumbai) and found a mid-range hotel nearby but not in the main bazaar to spare the boys the constant onslaught of chaos. We even spotted monkeys walking along powerlines and eating chappaties right in the city center!! The next two days were spent sightseeing at the Red Fort and the Delhi Zoo. The Red fort was great as the boys had so much space to run around. The Delhi Zoo had quite a few animals and in large enclosures. Jodhan wanted to see the monkey cage but when we got there, it was empty. Not that ist mattered for as the day progressed, the monkeys started to appear all over the place! Who needs to capture monkeys and feed them when they already live there! At one time, while Jodhan and Rishin were sitting and eating an ice cream cone, a particularly bold alpha male started to walk straight toward Jodhan. It's eyes fixed on the ice cream cone. When it was about six feet away, I stamped my foot to shoo it off. It then hissed at me flashing fangs and all and lept for the ice cream cone ( and shocked Jodhan). I kicked out at it and managed to block it's lunge. It then ran away. We saw a few more animals like lions and white tigers as well but didn't have any more interesting events, thankfully.

We left for Gwaloir the next morning by train and checked into the Usha Kiran Palace. What an impressive hotel this is. It is an 120 year old palace that has been transformed into a hotel and spa by the Taj Hotels group. The staff here were so taken by the boys. Jodhan was taught the basics of billards but the resident pro and Mom and Dad enjoyed the services of the spa. We also spent a day trecking around the old Gwaloir fort which is located on a plateau overlooking the town. It must have been very impressive in its glory. Other than that, there was not much to do but hang around the hotel until the overnight train to Hyderabad.

Hyderabad is an interesting city in many ways. It located almost right in the centre of India and is a blend of the north and the south in both languages spoken and the food served. It was nice as my northern Punjabi was very easily understood. The traffic is still heavy but not as aggresive as Delhi. And, amazingly, most autorickshaws will use their meters!!! I think this spoiled us as we found out in Bangalore. For the first half of our stay in Hyderabad, were at a Best Western hotel. Not really treking but it did look like a fairy tale castle with towers and all. We then moved into a guest house in a more middle class area of town from where it was alot easier to walk to restaurants and shops. We did do some sight seeing as well. We saw the impressive Chowmahalla palace but unfortunately, the camera's batteries died on the first shot attempt. We also hiked up to the top of Golconda Fort which is a task on its own without the 32 degree heat and having to carry two little guys for parts of the trek. Once at the top, the boys were having a blast with all the knooks and recesses to play hide and seek. The

view from the top was amazing as was the welcomed wind.

Wow
Poor Jodes almost got attacked by a monkey for his ice cream!!! Awe. It is great to see that you guys are doing well. I bet you are glad to have Nanni and Wyn now too. I really wish I was there with you. We just ended a few day stretch of snow which shut many schools down and the roads. It is all cleared up now and back to rain. Love you and miss you, Masi
