Nicola’s Top Ten things that are great about Hong Kong

10. Something new to do every day. You don’t have to do the same thing each day if
you don’t want to!
9. Walkways and subways making it easier to get around - especially with children
and trying to negotiate roads and traffic.
8. Light Show - can be seen from the Avenue of Stars, is free of charge and amazing
to see.
7. So much to do - actually this could be a drawback as you need lots of time to see
more than just the surface view of Hong Kong!
6. Disneyland - great for the kids, wonderful value and again lots to do.
5. Cost of goodies/clothing etc (but not wine!)
4. Shopping!!! The range of items available everywhere - clothing, shoes, watches
etc!
3. A restaurant on every corner, in each building and a range of types!
2. Service Quality - want great service? Come to Hong Kong!
1. China!!!!!!!!!!

THINGS WE DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT HONG KONG - combined list

1. Pollution - you feel dirty each time you make it inside.
2. The pushing an shoving. Lots of bruises after our visit.
3. Being “Ripped Off” Check that receipt - chances are you may be charged for something you didn’t order (coffee, tea etc.,)
4. People here do not follow the directional arrows in the subway and MTR and expect you to get out of their way even if you are following the arrows!
5. Small Sized Clothing. Do you know anyone who could fit into a XXS? And a large is still our small to medium at best.
6. Taxi drivers who try to make out that they don’t have a clue where you want to go and go all over the countryside to get over the basic $15 fare.
7. Litter - everywhere and lots of it. Good thing there are lots of people to clean it up.
8. Undefined meat products that smell not so great and look not so good.
9. Finding Accomodation that can cater for a family of more than 3! Very difficult
10. AND THE WINNER IS……..being left behind on an organized tour and still having to pay a very high price - with no apologies forthcoming from the operator! You know who you are, tour company!
