Today is my first day of the fall semester. I have not yet gone to any classes and am going to give a quick recap of my first week in Hong Kong.
I spent the week becoming familiar with Hong Kong overall, by going on a few tours of the city and a couple outlying islands. The tours were put on by the school and were for all of us exchange students. The first tour I went on took us to Lamma Island and Po Toi Island to give us some cultural education about Hong Kong. I met many other students from places as distant as Japan, Ecuador, Russia, Sweden, Italy, Florida, California, and even Wisconsin. The whole week flew by as I spent the days traveling around Hong Kong to everywhere including Kowloon Tong, Wan Chai, Victoria's Peak, Central, Hang Hau, etc. So far I have met tons of amazing and interesting people and have had a great time getting to know as much about them as possible in so few days.
The food is pretty interesting for someone who lives in the middle of a continent are doesn't eat seafood regularly. All the rice and seafood dishes
Central Hong Kong
The capital of business in Asia. are pretty good tasting but it takes a little time to adjust to the diet. Every meal is served with tea for the drink and that's hard to get used to also.
The weather is so hot and humid right now its hard to do anything without sweating like crazy, but right now it's not that different than summer in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
That's about all for now!
