So our time in Hong Kong will end in around 7 hours, and to celebrate we're all huddled around one computer in the internet cafe. Seems we might've finally run out of things to do, so probably a good time to leave.
Things on the face of it appear to have returned to normal. My stomach has settled, and Mark has a camera again. He lost his first in a taxi through sheer incompetence on his part, it fell out of his bag whilst he got the guide book out, to try to tell a taxi driver where the hospital was. Unfortunately some unscrupulous person has obviously pocketed the camera from the taxi, as there has been no trace of it, having rung up the lost property people numerous times from the posh hotel or tourist info stand, to avoid charges!! But he's now got a better camera for HKD2000, with all the trimmings, around 150 quid.
Yesterday was a jam-packed day, we visited Lantau Island, went in a cable car for 20 minutes up this mountain trail, and ended up in Po Lin, where ther's a buddhist monastery, and a giant Buddha statue, which really was giant. Pictures will follow some time later. Then we came back and chilled out for a couple of hours, as getting to the Buddha statue involved my nemesis on the trip so far, steps. After that, we went for a meal, and then re-visited the Temple St Market again, where I bought more pointless tat, but couldn't resist. We then did the promenade at night, to view Hong Kong Island by night. Even though it was still murky, the lights were still visible, and it was definitely more impressive than daytime Hong Kong.
Now on to Australia, which will hopefully be less manic than here, as we arrive at 7.10 tomoorow morning, we'll be having a chill-out day on the beach tomorrow, before hitting Sydney proper the next day.
See you there!

amazingly we need you back!!
Tom, have just found yet more work for you (if you want it?!) - so make sure you return hungry and poor so that you will put up with working for us again - the work is slightly repetitive (OK, very) but sooooooooo important. Enjoy yourself but don't forget to spend spend spend so that you need our cash! On a different note, saw Chess yesterday - it was brilliant (including Ella in the orchestra). Good luck. Paul
