  • When having a drink with Mark at the end of the day, there was some confusion when a chinese girl gestured at us for a photograph. We have taken lots of photos for other people whilst travelling but this was the first time that someone wanted to photograph us - guess we stood out more than we thought!!!

Happy New Year!!!
Fireworks on Hong Kong Island from Mid-Levels.

Glary
Good idea to do a loop on the tourist bus, but not a good idea to forget your sunglasses.

Walkways
The maze of covered walkways throughout the city are convenient for pedestrians as well as traffic.

Dim Sum
Dim Sum at Luk Yu Tea House - an old style teahouse which is a bit of a museum with grumpy service but excellent food.

Butcher Man
Butcher at Graham St Market. He looked pretty deadly with a cleaver!

Seafood Lady
Hoses pump fresh water into the crates keeping creatures alive. Some very strange creatures - maybe even some that David Attenborough wouldn't have seen before.

Fruit & Veg
The fruit and veg at Graham St Market looked fresh and vibrant including the Australian Carrots and the plump raspberries.

Street Art
Using the street as his workshop this man was making the most of his artistic inspiration.

Jungle Carving
The amount of detail in this carving was incredible, right down to the skin markings on some of the animals.

Hong Kong Island Skyline
Our first real sense of perspective on size of city when we viewed the skyline from Mark's apartment - level 34 in the Mid-levels.
