Wednesday 9th January - Hong Kong
After a lift from home to Birmingham Airport from Graham. We caught a National Express coach to Heathrow yesterday lunchtime in the pouring rain. At Heathrow we met up with Neal and Carine. Carine had worked magic as a BA employee and when we boarded our aircraft we were taken aside and asked to wait in the crew's kitchen before being upgraded to Club Class, much to our surprise!
This is reccomended travel as we slept in our own little pod with in flight screens and FLAT beds.l We had an excellent choice of food and superior wine and slept very well.
After 11 hours we landed at Hong Airport and transfered by the Airport Express into the city where we caught a taxi to our hotel 10 minutes from the station.
Off to explore Hong Kong by night!

China
The road sign reminds me of Tom stating when he was little that he was glad he hadn't been born China because he couldn't understand Chinese. Good to see the historic first blog post from foreign soil. Keep 'em coming.

wow you lucky things!!
Wow Carine did great to get you up graded just what you needed to start your adventure in style. Hope you got some sleep and not too jet lagged. Can't wait to see lot of pics of Hong Kong, spent ages looking for it on the map with the kids at school!! so it will be good to show them some pictures. I am meeting up with Tom and Marta and the kids this Friday as it is Matra's birthday on Saturday (which i had forgotten about!). So will make sure they too have a link to your blog page. Take care lot of love Amy
