Lovely room in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel
I must say the 8.5 hour flight from Sydney to Hong Kong went very quickly enjoying a nice meal on the plane, plenty of film and tv choices and managing a nap too!
My chauffeur was waiting at the airport to take me the 35minute journey to The Mandarin Oriental Hotel right in ther city centre and to my beautiful roon on the 19th floor The Hotel has recently had a multi million dollar make over and there is every gadget imagineable in my room! From remote control lighting, computer and message centre in the TV to a wet room and surround sound centre! I feel quite at home lol!
There is a 3 hour difference in time from Sydney so now 8 hours ahead of UK but feeling quite tired so after a quick strole near the hotel it was time for sleep in my lovely comfortabel bed!!!
I woke up and enjoyed the most delicious breakfast with imaculate service from the very gracious and polite staff The experience was faultless, even home made loganberry jam mmmmmm
I had a city tour booked and the very vivacious Michele collected me from the hotel along with a group of others for

the short drive to the old Victoria Peak Tram Station, which has been operating since 1888 and takes you to Lugard Road Lookout in about 10 minutes up an incline that is so steep the buildings look like they are leaning at 45 degrees! But great views of the city and Victoria Harbour from the top even though it was a bit hazy from the polution that blows in from industrial China Then on to Aberdeen Harbour where we were able to take a ride in a Sanpan on the river where the people still live and work It was so strange to be riding around in such an old boat with huge skyscrapers all around. Next on to a beautiful jewelrey factory nearby watching the craftsmen at work with gold silver and precious stones and the chance to buy some things as well! Well Christmas is just around the corner!
Our final stop was at Stanley Market a buzzing, lively place and a chance to pick so more real bargains before heading along the coastal beach road back to the Hotel
This evening I am meeting up with Sophia and family for a trip over to Kowloon for a
