A corner on Nathan Road, Kowloon We started our morning off with a cappucino and hash browns at Rotten Ronnie's. A slow 20 minute walk took us to the Star Ferry which operates a service across the harbour to Hongkong Island (the terrirory of Hongkong is comprised of an island and part of the China mainland). The ferry ride takes takes less than 10 minutes and costs around $2.
The weather today was perfect for a bus tour - not too hot and somewhat cloudy. For Can $32 we took a guided tour around the island. The contrasts of HK are amazing: clean and cosmopolitan in one area and then around the corner a typical crowded market street. There is no where inside the apartments to dry laundry and so the industrious Chinese hang their laundry to dry outside the windows of the apartment.
We took the funicular railyway up top the top of Voctoria Peak where we were offered a
magnificent view of the area as far as the eye caould see. We then had lunch at a small restaurant at the peak. Sarah was horrified to see the poor chicken hanging naked with its head still on. The afternoon was spent on
a hair-fraising bus ride along the narrow coastal road to the village of Stanley where we wandered around the market and picked up a few souveniers.
Tommow, we spend the day with Mickey!

Well, it l;ooks like you're having a great time - headless chickens and all....Stevie "wishes he was there" [without the minor detail of actually travelling]. Lippo centre looks fun - need a franchise over here....We're all waiting to see pics of Hong Kong Mickey. Have fun!
