After checking in and some much needed rest - no sleep, and a shower we met up at 11.30am for brunch and headed to a local restaurant which served Chinese and western food. I chose western whilst I still had the opportunity.

It was still raining and likely to remain that way all day. Originally our activities for the day were bamboo rafting and cormorant fishing, but as the river was too high, fast flowing and muddy neither of theses were available. So plan B was to have a wander round the town, visit the river and the pagoda.

Stuart wanted to get a hair cut as he had had one in India, but they had cut one side longer than the other lol. So we found a barber and Sally translated what Stuart wanted into mandarin so the guy cutting his hair knew what he wanted. We all, watched on, no pressure on the guy doing the cutting. We chatted, cracked jokes etc. the other hairdressers (3guys) and one customer (a girl having her hair coloured) were mystified by it all. After about 20 minutes he was done!

Then we wandered down to the river to see how swollen it was and then walked up to the park and the pagoda. Some of our motley crew had a go at using the exercise equipment before walking up the 200+ Steps to the pagoda to get a view of the town. We did the usual group photo and had a go at making an echo in the mountains which we succeeded in!

Then it was back to the hostel for some much needed sleep and then met again for dinner. We went to a local Chinese restaurant called cloud 9 which also runs the cookery classes. Sally ordered on our behalf and we had a delicious meal and were all very full at the end of it.

After dinner we headed back to the hostel and the roof top bar to meet the famous Monkey Jane and challenge her to a game of beer pong. If you can beat her you can have a free monkey Jane thirst. Stuart tried and failed so plan B was to carry 10 crates of beer up the stairs all 5 flights of them! But he dud it and earned t shirt.

A good evening was had by all and I left around midnight with Bhavisha and Nitzan leaving Stuart to party. Unfortunately he staggered back in at around 2am fell into the bed and then fell out of it. Nitzan had gone to get him some water but in the mean time he threw up,on his duvet and then on the floor outside in the sitting room. Luckily we had wooden floors. I dud one as I can't stand people chucking up and sat on the stairs. Bhavisha was also up as she was face timing her mum in the UK. Chaos then ensued and Stuart collapsed on the floor I ran back to the bar to get help to move him to his bed, but when we got there he had moved himself. Nitzan cleaned up the mess bless him.

We did try to get Stuart to bed but he was adamant he was staying up and face timed his girl friend and her mum in the UK and Bhavisha and I also had a chat with them when he passed the phone over to us. It was about an hour later when he finally came to bed and finally fell asleep which was a relief to the rest of us.
