The Countdown is Nearly Over

"The only trips I regret are the ones I didn't do" Paddy Palin

For Sue, Ged, Jesse and Alice the countdown is very nearly over and on Saturday we will finally leave our
beautiful island home for a month of travel and adventure in China.

The idea of this travel blog is to help our family and friends keep up-to-date with our travels - well those
that are interested, the rest of you can just pretend! Now I must admit that this is something very new
and a bit 'out there' for me, as someone who is not on facebook or myspace and has never tweeted or
twittered (or whatever it is you do) but I thought I would give this a go.

For those that don't know us we are Sue & Ged and we had done a bit of travelling together BC (before children) - experiences and stories that are much treasured and recounted to each other and anyone who will listen really, anytime, anywhere. The munchkins are Jesse (6) and Alice (4) who although never got a lot of choice are right into the swing of travel. We want to continue to experience as much of this wonderful world as we can together and with our children.

So why China and the obvious answer would be "why not?" But the reality is that after a fabulous trip to
Cambodia in 2008 we thought that Laos would be our where to next and planned a trip for September 2009. This didn't happen and the outcome of a not so long but also not so interesting story is that a trip to Laos in 2009 turned into a trip to China in May 2010. So off to China we go and who hasn't wanted to stand on the Great Wall?

A big thank you to all our family and friends who have wished us well and who have endured the countdown with us and we hope you enjoy following our travel in China
