Got up at 6:30am. Barely. Mikk and me went to the bus station and got the 7:45 to Dali. Ended up in Dali 1pm (we got the more local bus 94 yunnan). Met a cute little kid on the bus who actually could pull of a mohawk. When we got to Dali it was the old town and we didnt know where to go. Clint (Estelle's mate) had mentioned the MCA hotel in his blog so i offered we should stay there. mikk agreed and as if by coindence a taxi driver pulled up and offered to take us there. He said his price was 55 but we managed to get him down to 35. We got to the MCA hotel maybe around 12pm and the lady who was working tehre tried to convince us that we should take a double room for 80RMB total - because

"they had hot showers"

We said we were ok witha dorm for 20RMB each even though they had cold showers. The lady was not happy and keep saying how crappy the dorms were. Good selling skills there. Eventually she left us in the dorm with our bags. We kinda woke up this English guy - Dave by accident even though he said he wanted to get up. He told us about bike riding around Dali so we decided to get lunch together and maybe go for a ride afterwards. He went to have a shower and while we waited i used the net abit - which was super slow!!!! No chance to upload pics😞
A girl came into the internet room, her name was Kathy and she was German and she said she would join us for lunch. She was traveling with a Malaysian guy named Jian so she told him and once Dave was ready we set out. We found this dumplings place. This Israely guy that Jian knew cruised past and joined us ( he was vegetarian and had vegetarian dumplings which I had some of which were pretty good - kinda like the vegetable things mum makes - kapusta pirashki???) We decided to rent a bike afterwards (from the place Dave rented at before). Jian left his passport but it was all sweet - according to Dave. Then after getting fitted and taking multiple photos we cruised on down to the 3 pagodas. Took some photos but didnt go inside because we heard it wasnt worth it for 140RMB. We then rode around town - which was super fun taking all the side streets and getting all these what the looks from locals who looked like they hadn't seen forgeiners before. Dalie is homne to the Bai and probaly my favorite old town in Yunnan (that i visited). The Bai wear great costumes made out of dyed but durable cloth. Dali was the capital of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) Nanzhao Kingdom and Song Dynasty (960 - 1279) Dali Kingdom. We also rode by Erhai lake. After riding for a couple of hours we popped byt he supermarket before giving our bikes back.

In the evening (after jumping in and out of a cold shower - they were alot colder than the Cambodia showers Chay) we decided to try out the Bad Monkey. This was the place Dave

" Had one of the best nights ever"

It was a pretty funky bar - playing hectic drum and bass tunes (thought of Dicko and Jared really getting into this place actually). There was this guy there that we had seen ealier in the streets he was about 30, anyways he was showing off photos on his camera, of the process of picking, killing, cooking and eating this dog he had in Dali. We had a few rounds and some smoke and then Kathy went to bed. Soon it was me Mikk, Dave and the Israeli left so we played dice drinking games. Me and Mikk left around 3am to finally go to bed.
