It's still the school holidays here in Teda, Andy is in the US so it's just me and the boys! We had another trip to Tianjin Zoo this week, this is one of the boys favourite places to visit. We seemed to have picked the hottest day to go though......temp up to 37/38 and a very sweaty heat. We hired out a little car to zoom around the zoo. We had seen them before but it's one of those things where "next time we come" we will try so I thought as it was a hot day, be a nice treat for an hour! The boys had a great time driving.......they really did drive mummy round the bend!!!! William was in charge of beeping the horn to move people out of Matthew's way.....the Chinese thought this was funny so out came the camera's!!! Mathew took a turn a little sharp and these 2 nice Chinese gentlemen came to our rescue and helped us out of the ditch!!
We found a new area that we had never seen before, we saw the signs for a reptile area but couldn't find it. It was not the best I have seen........There was a
big pond with crocodiles and there were people just tormenting them and then I found a smaller pond with the saddest seal I have even seen, again there were people tormenting it with hanging a fish on a stick in front of him and waving it around. Just sad to see. Then we found the snake area........gave me the creeps!!!!
Matthew practised his swimming and holding his breath under water this week but it ended up to turn into a water fight and William was shooting ants with his water gun and one of the drivers!! Its one way to cool off!!
It was hair cut time for Matthew and I!! I was finally brave to let some one cut my hair.......With lots of pointing and MMMMMMM ing we got there!!! And I have to say he did a really good job with both of us.
In the area we live in, in Teda there is a big football stadium and at night time the community get together to exercise. People walk around the running track and in the centre there are lots of different exercise classes going on and you just pick one and join in.

William's turn!!! There are dance classes and kung Fu and others that I have never seen before! We have watched at the side a few times and last week one of our friends invited us to join them for a walk. It was a great atmosphere, every one chatting while walking and joining in.....felt very upbeat. We all walked around the track a few times and then I had an attempt at one of the classes with my friend. Jojo is Chinese and kind of knew what she was doing so blended in....me on the other hand stood!!!! I tried to follow a lady in front of me.....I was at least 3 steeps behind and I didn't realise that the dance exercise class turned around like in a square shape and one minute I was at the back of the class then some how ended up at the front!!! There was an elderly Chinese couple who had been watching me (with out me noticing!) and were laughing at me!! A great time and Matthew has a go at the exercise area used for stretching and using arms and legs for all ages.....time for my nan yet there were a lot older than
my nan taking part!!!!
We went to the park for a nice walk, so nice to see all the summer flowers blooming and the dragon flies whizzing around. There were school children sitting in the shade with their teacher for reading and singing class and we saw a bride and groom having photos taken......even though it is in the middle of a very busy China town it was nice a peaceful at the park.
A busy week.....
