What a lazy time we've had here.. it's hard to leave.

Haven't crossed off a single thing from the tourist checklist while in Chengdu. It's been heaven.
Tegan and I arrived on Monday and met up with a local couchsurfing host to crash the night on his floor. After the 10 hour bustrip from Jiuzhaigou it was so nice to be at a place where we didn't have to talk to anyone or make polite conversation about future travel plans etc etc etc. Thanks Seadna.

SO anyway the next day we did bugger all apart from post home some heavy stuff and cook our own food for the first time in over a month. Then we went to collect Mick from the train station!
While we were waiting we met Victor, rep from a local hostel, who bargained with his boss to give us a great deal and we were one our way. The Loft Hostel is fantastic, if anyone's heading to Chengdu. Great rooms with natural light a bar and lounge area, great courtyard and really nice staff.

We headed out to a local bar recommended by Seadna and staff at the hostel: The Jah Bar. It was like walking into a friend's place in Freo, a pile of instruments, some great tunes playing, cheap beer great people and a little Jah spirit. Consequently, we have been back almost every night in Chengdu.

Other stuff - met a local hiphop crew called the Gun Crew (it means good feeling in Sichuan language) and beatboxxed with an MC called Robber.
Went to a dyke bar called The Queen Bee
Saw a couple of crazy documentaries on North Korea
Played an Arhu (2 stringed chinese violin)
met a bunch of local metal musicians
swapped body percussion lessons for tai chi lessons

Chengdu is a great place. I might move here.
