My friend Jo and her brother Simon came to visit Shanghai. It was quite an exhausting 6 days: waking up early everyday...taking the metro here & there...walking (tons of walking)...etc. etc.... 😊 Other than doing things around the city, we also took a day-trip to Hangzhou and we spent one day at the Expo too (We went into 18 or 19 pavilions that day). at first I thought these structures looked quite ugly...but then I realized how cool they are!

the main feature of the pavilion was a show with huge, circular, revolving screens. it was quite impressive! I've always wanted to go to Australia...now I really really really really really want to go!!!! the presentation was in Mandarin and the host spoke in Mandarin too..which was surprising!

We lined up for about an hour to get in. So many people had said the Spain Pavilion is a must-see. We thought different. The pavilion was ok...not excellent. Anyway, there was GIANT baby inside the pavilion. It looked so real...its eyes open & close...its heart "beats"...I think Simon was kind of freaked out by it.

btw...it is basically impossible to get into the China Pavilion. I asked two different expo staff to verify how you can get a reservation ticket---both said the same thing so it should be the truth. Well, if you really want to get a ticket...you'll have to start lining up at 6:30am at one of the entrances and then fight to get to a security guard who passes out the tickets. BTW, there's a limited number of tickets per day...so they get passed out in 5 minutes. OH WELL...you can still visit the pavilions of the different Chinese provinces (which are awesome and there are barely any line-ups) which are located in basement of the China Pavilion.
