I went to an Education Fair with a friend...and there was a group of little dancers who performed in the opening ceremony. they were so adorable! the girl in the blue costume--i wonder if that is supposed to be Haibao??

skateboarders
almost every weekend, these guys set up their speakers and ramps in the little park near our subway station. it's kind of cool to watch!

there seems to be a lack of real parking spaces...so people just park randomly on the sidewalk. what a pain!

limited time only
these berries are only available for a couple weeks in June (that is what i was told). they were pretty good...it tasted of a cross between a raspberry and a blueberry & it had a pit in the centre

baked feta
yummm. I shared it with a friend as an appetizer. After eating that, I was full already. ahah

garbage hazard
this pile almost took up the width of the sidewalk...and it looked scary in the dark.

visitor from France
Angel came to visit Shanghai for a few days in mid-June. I haven't seen her in a while since she's been in France & I've been in Shanghai this year--it was so nice to see her and catch up!

this man was working past 11pm...i can't believe the hours they work here. it is quite horrible. and isn't it so great that they don't even bother putting up safety barricades?

Bali Laguna
near Jing'an Temple. the atmosphere was amazing, but the food was not so great (and the portions were so small!)

Liu Liu
G and I have befriended a little boy named Liu Liu. We see him everyday, usually with his grandpa. They live in the same building as us. He is almost 2 years old...and is so cute and always says hello & goodbye to us--he has the sweetest voice ever too! :) We were heading out to dinner for Canada Day and bumped into him in the stairwell...we just had to take a picture with him!

Happy Canada Day! in Shanghai (Simply Thai)
We brought a huge Canada flag to the restaurant..and put it up to show our Canadian spirit! (at first they wouldn't let us put it up...but we explained it was a birthday!). The waiters chuckled when they passed by our table...
