The business district of Shanghai at night.
Hello everyone.

Wish you were here!

We have had a great few days in Shanghai, the city that is like black and white tv during the day and colour tv at night. That's what our guide said as we cruised up the huangpo river staring in awe at the skyscrapers (think bladerunner). We agreed until we visited the old quarter of Shanghai with its traditional buildings and gardens. We are still not tired of the "let's go for a chinese" joke. The food is wonderful; we have got to learn how to make dumplings when we get back.

The weather has been unseasonably hot. We are about to head over to Beijing and its sub zero temperatures by train (a mere 12 hours). We were unable to upload photos at ths internet cafe so will hopefully do so for our next entry.

Have fun and don't miss us too much!

We had a lot of fun at a silk factory in Suzhou, a city near Shanghai.
