This is why I didn't write yesterday. The dinner show ended at 10pm and then we had to ride back to the hotel. Back at the hotel the community college instructors put their gift bags together for the meeting with the technology institute scheduled for the next day. Finally FELL into bed about 12.

4)Huaquing Hot Springs - Located at the northern foot of Mt. Lishan in Lindong County of Shaanxi Province, 30 kilometers from Xian, Huaqing Hot Springs is a state place of interest as well as scenic spot. According to the record, as early as the Dynasties of Zhou, Qin, Han, Sui and Tang, temporary imperial abode was constructed here. In the 6th year of Emperor Xuanzong’s Reign in the Tang Dynasty(747) it was expanded on a massive scale by turning the hot springs into bathing pools, ringing the Mount with palace buildings, which were to be protected by an outer circular defensive wall and renamed it Huaqing Palace. As the palace was built upon the hot springs, it was also called Hot Spring Pools. At the present, there are four springs flowing out with a total capacity of over 110 tons of water per hour at the constant temperature of 43 degrees centigrade, which is good for bathing. hot springs

go go go
You crazy Americans... go, go, go. That is what Dzianis might say also. Are you sure you couldn't make just one more event before heading back to the hotel? ha :) I'd probably be doing the same thing. Enjoy, but don't drink the water. LU, Allen

I find the hot springs interesting. I wonder if they were used for medicinal purposes also.

Buddhist temple
As a buddhist, I find it interesting that there is a working Buddhist temple there. I wonder if it is encouraged for the average Chinese person to practice religion.

The Dinner Show
The Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show must have been wonderful! I love to see how different cultures express themselves. The Chinese have such a rich and wonderful culture!

The Hot Springs
The Huaquing Hot Springs sound neat. After hearing about the water, I couldn't imagine people bathing in it (even though they are used to it). I just can't imagine living somewhere with water like China's, even if it doesn't seem to bother the Chinese people.

Trip of a Lifetime
I can see that you're having a wonderful time, Bambi! Oh, the sights you have seen! Was meeting with Jody when Betty's email came with your blog info and I couldn't wait to see what you were up to there in China. I know the trip has been so very exciting, but I bet with "goin' home" time fast approaching, that anticipation of returning to New Bern is just as exciting as the anticipation of your trip was. Have a safe trip home!
