ANOTHER CHRISTMAS HAS ARRIVED AND THE NEW YEAR 2009 IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER. FEW EVENTS IN ONE'S LIFE , OTHER THAN A BIRTHDAY, REMIND HOW QUICKLY TIME AND THE YEARS PASS. After 38 years as a Foreign Language Teacher and Foreign Language Dept. Chair at Coral Gables Sr. H.S., and A.J. Professor of German at the University of Miami, I have left Florida in June of 2006, where my home is in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. The classrooms in China are not heated in my area of China. It is hard to smile when you are cold. But it makes them a stronger person!!

During the brake, three of my students try to keep warm in the winter sunshine of Taizhou. The hats help keep the ears from falling off.

It is one of their most natural handsignals when they take a photo. She did find a great smile, dispite the cold classroom.

She is one of my great "class monitors", and performs a lot of extra duties for her class. I try to thank her for her efforts, but the Chinese are very shy!

Today is the 24th of December. As always, this man sits in one of the corners of our small campus, and tries to earn a few extra Yuan repairing shoes. He was also able to fix the two broken zippers on my jackets today. There are not many holidays for this kind man. It makes me more appreciative of my own fortunes, especially on this Christmas Eve, 2008!

You had a wonderful experience at a school in Xinghua. I sure that the children all like you a lot! You are always popular!:-) You had a Christmas in China again,and I hope you were happy(Although Christmas had past)! Don't feel homesick when you are alone,you have many friends who can accompany you,such as Justin and me! Your class seems so interesting that I can't wait to experience! I hope I have the chance!
