Distance: 134 Kms SubT. 1,322 Kms Bal 10,671 Kms Road Condition: crap construction, massive holes, corrugation, huge trucks, BIG HILLS.

Weather: good,big patches of blue, hot- 38C

Ate breakfast purchased yesterday in supermarket, just as well as hotel offered nothing. Lunch was at the 84 km mark, reached in three hours, 9.30. It was tasty.

What an arduous day! Kms of city after city, with nest of ants scooter drivers, who drive on to road, don't look, hope for the best, EXCEEDINGLY DANGEROUS. Saw a truck that had been in an accident, its' entire front end and motor had collapsed on to the road, looked irretrievable. After 40 Kmsof thick traffic, hit road construction. Joyous. Will this be with us until Kashgar? Then the relentless hills started, 38 Kms of them, rising and falling

1200+ metres multiple times,often dusty and jammed between trucks. The dust was dense and I arrived looking like a panda bear, once sun glasses were removed. At times speed was 10.6 Kms and at other times 49kms. A steady, flat 27 would have been great!!

Scenery unmentionable- numerous power station stacks, and highway workshops.

Going to bike workshop tonight to get every thing tightened, rear brake adjusted, and new speedo fitted, as Garmin is still causing frustration. New speedo purchased for 26 yuan ( ($5) hopefully it works!
