In celebration of Labour Day as well as the opening of Expo 2010, the city of Shanghai was given an extra long weekend! So, I went to Guilin and Yangshuo---a break from big city noise and craziness. these poor tigers and lions were forced to go down a slide. Lizzy and I didn't stay at the show for very long. it looked horrible and the animals looked unhappy. :(

I just wished the pandas were out playing or eating. There's nothing to watch when they're sleeping.

there were 4 people who were taking their time posing and taking pictures (we think they were photography students)....finally they got the hint and let us go ahead to take a picture. they took this one for us.

there was a sign pointing for us to go through here to get to the Seven Star Cave....and it led us to a long path of stairs to the Picking Stars pavilion.

at first, we thought we got ripped off because it cost us 65 RMB for the cave admission and we went through a cave--and the sign said Seven Star Cave--and it took maybe a minute to get through. Good thing we walked around to look & we found the real cave. They had a guide for us, but we just walked ahead since we didn't understand the guide & they kept stopping to take pictures.
