Arrival to Beijing after 9 hours flight from Tel Aviv. Good thing we booked a hotel in advanced, cause we were excused.
After refreshing up we went explore the area and went to Tienmen square and the Forbidden City. Really interesting and takes the hole day to be there. (60Y, no student discouint, 40Y automatic guide that I didn’t understand anything - not recommended).
On the next day we saw the Lama Temple, which is really big and impressive. Lots of incense is being lighted by the prayers and you can see lots ash covers the roof of the temple which once used to be red.
Bell Tower - 63 Tons of bell located on the upper level of the tower. Nice. (15Y, 8Y for student)
Drum Tower - next to the bell tower, nice view on the city, and every 10 minutes there is a 4 people show pounding on the drums. Nice. (10Y).
Acrobatic show - 100Y for something you can watch freely on the Olympics. Not recommended. 100Y, if you book it from the hotel.
The Great Wall - very rough day. We walked the hardest part the agency offered us. It was 10km long and it took 4 hours. Lots of climbing, but was worth every Yuen. The path consisted of a new part of the wall that was rebuilt lately, and an old part that is 200 years old. (75Y for entrance fee that divided to 3 parts(30+40+5) and 110Y for the minibus.
Temple of Heaven - Very nice place. You have to get up early, about 0500-0530 in the morning in order to see Beijing’s elderly people working out and Tai-Chi in the garden surrounding the temple. The temple is a round shaped building that can be seen from anywhere in the garden, its really impressive, and it is told that the Caesar itself came to pray for croft and rainy years.
Pearl and Silk market - Big malls that you can find anything there for cheap prices. Sellers are very annoying.
