It is the largest hall in the palace and was used for major occasions, such as enthronement of an emperor. The throng of tourist dwarf in front of it.

Tile reliefs point to the skills of the Chinese artisans.

Not only a barrier, but also sufficient water in case of fires.

Animals on roof were used to protect against fires. Several times they were asleep, and the palaces burned to the ground.

Few nails were used, if any. Fire was a constant threat.
