I am in Beijing, my first experience with Asia. I have only a couple of days here before I embark on the Trans-Siberian railway. What to do first? I decide to let fate guide me. Incredibly, fate really likes sightseeing, so I saw quite a bit. Pollution hangs over the city like a curtain, leaving a chalky film in your throat. Did a volcano erupt nearby? All the vehicles are covered in a thick laye... Read Full Entry

OMG I am all about praying and peaceful reflection, but do you need a coughing fit too? My tender lungs were assaulted in Beijing.

If you are going to look at my pictures, you are going to see some trees. Sorry. But I loved this bad boy.

I really enjoyed the decorated rooftops and buildings. The amount of figurines on a roof indicates the wealth of the owner. 10 means Emperor level.

This little guy was ripping around the Bell Tower like a holy only-child until I took out my camera. Then he just stopped short and did this pose. I still laugh. He's a pro.

"I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on, but after a few group photos, everyone was happy and all smiles as I left." ...that pretty much sums up traveling in asia. :) "For me, I’d rather lick toilet bowls than shop." i think we'd get along just fine...glad my boss walked by when i accidentally blast out a laugh at this one. excited to see you traveling again - my entertainment has been rather thin lately and i need to get into blogging mode for our next (albeit short) adventure. happy travels! alisa

Kaapow! Zing! Blam! Kazow!
What a great way to end the day I've had. You've given me laughter again. Thanks. We always love reading what you have to say. Love the humor. It looks like a good place for a siesta. And we long to have Peking Duck in China. We cook it from time to time at home and would like to experience it in the homeland. Looking forward to the Trans Siberian adventure.

Laugh out loud
Ok, I know I already left a comment two days ago but for some reason when I was sitting in my office this afternoon I suddenly burst out laughing (twice) thinking of the line "must be that dodgy video I made a few years ago..." I mean it was funny at the time, but two days later it was even funnier! Just thought I'd share...

Lingers like a stink
Yep, that's my humour alright...like a fart that lingers. Often I burst out laughing while driving my car thinking about a ridiculous convo I had a week prior....Glad I'm not the only one this happens to.
