This is not a song sung by Beijingers very often. BUT GUESS WHAT?! Today there are BLUE SKIES, NO POLLUTION, WISPY DELICATE CLOUDS and a nice breeze! It's 8:30am on a Sunday; I'm the only one awake so far, but hott damn! We can't waste this day!!!
Tiananmen? Great Wall? 798? THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!
We were planning to go shopping at Panjiayuan'r for trinkets, paintings and more cultural revolution kitsch than you can shake a stick at. And that might still happen.
EEE! OH! And I now have my battery charger back, and thus I have my own camera back in action baby!

So this morning I finally got everyone up and about, and then we headed out for our day... of TexMex food at the Mexican Wave and then some shopping at Panjiayuan'r outdoor flea market.
But we had a series of minor failures. Like we woke up last night with the air conditioner that had stopped working, so we were wicked hot already. And then I had us get off at the wrong subway stop, so

facing west out of the apartment we walked back from Jianguomen to Yonganli and down to Mexican Wave. After lunch, the taxi driver and I had some miscommunication, so he took us to the big indoor fancy "antique market" instead of the outdoor flea market. So we walked down and around the corner before we got there.
However, we had lots of fun at Panjiayuan'r! Photos ensuing...
