Taking on the Great Wall

So today we took a tour out to the great wall. We did a gruelling 10 km hike along the top and through many of the towers. It was spectacular! The photos don't do it justice. The whole area has such a haze, i think a mixture of smog and fog. We met some people from Japan and Chicago on our tour. The major downer of the day was getting stuck in a traffic jam coming into the city. It was a hot, sticky situation. We went to a restaurant with many locals around. They brought us small dishes of random things as we sat down, we were not sure what to do with them. Then we ordered some duck and I (Charlotte) ate a small bite. The waitress came over and showed us the grill in the middle of the table to cook it. Oops. At least we're providing the Chinese with some entertainment!
