Day 3 - Beijing

Weather in beijing is really good today. It was sunny and about 1 degree Celcius. Not the minus 6 Celcius that we expect 😊
The tour was smooth..even the tour manager (Beijing) commented that it was pretty good. He is very experienced n I really enjoyed the tour explanation ...

It was the first time I set foot on Tian-an men square and we had a couple of group shots.The group was pretty cohesive.

One thing that strike me was that everyone on the group was on the look-out for one another, and the spirit of serving was very very high...even our Tianjing tour guide, Xiao Niu acted as a photographer plus "bell-boy" 😊

The professionalism of the tour guides here never fail to impress me...they are knowledgeable and proud of their history...and very very fluent in their delivery...

Also Beijing is clean and also very tourist friendly and I was surprised at the level of "safety" I felt when I walked along the streets.

We have to register the car before entering Beijing and according to the tour guide, this is a new rule established after the Olympics.

Had an interesting tour of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, a drive-by of the "Bird's nest" or the world famous Olympics stadium, The Cube plus also Summer Palace. Indeed Beijing is steeped in history and a day's tour is really insufficient 😊

We finished the day by taking the new high speed inter-city express that linked Tianjin with Beijing.

According to China's Ministry of Railways it's the world's fastest train making the 120-km journey between the two cities in about 30 minutes.

We alighted at Wuqing station as our hotel is at this place. It was a most pleasant trip, costing 48rmb for a top speed of 330km/h.
Guess what? my team mates even wanted me to take a video clip of the toilet!
