Breakfast Day1
Sua (our translater) and I at breakfast Hi All,
Well we arrived safe & sound. Thai airways are very good. Our flight from sydney to Bangkok was a tad late so we had to do the bolt to the opposite end of the airport for our connecting flight to Phnom Penh. We made it because our connection was also running late! (Note to self, relax, nothing runs on time in SE Asia.)
Anyway we were picked up by Wendi & Andrew from my host organisation RDI, had a late dinner at a drive through roadside stand & straight to bed..
This morning we took a walk in the village, it was lovely, lots of friendly khmers, dogs and kids lots of activity. The vegetation is lush and you can almost see everything growing. The (unpaved) streets are muddy from the rain but it seems to dry up quickly.
We met our translator, Sua at breakfast which we had at a little restaurant in the village (see photos). The ice coffees were fantastic and homemade lemonade was so refreshing.
We will be going in to Phnom Penh later today to get local sim cards and change money.
I'll post another blog soon
Love to all,
Cheers,
Kirsten
