What an incredible adventure - thank you so much for sharing it with us
Wow - I am in awe of all that you are experiencing in your travels - your accounts of the time spent exploring Cambodia are incredible. Thank you so much for sharing information and the amazing photos. While it may be a bit hard to find in Palm Springs, I will be looking for a Cambodian restaurant in Southern California to try the fish amok. I also promise to visit the website of the lighthouse orphanage. Thank you for expanding our awareness of the world. I wish you both continued safe travel and, to borrow what is obviously a local favorite phrase, I wish you good luck in your life! a point..
just flicking through some cambodian blogs here ( I live here ) if your interested in Cambodian history I would ike to point out that it was A LOT of bombs that america dropped on the khmers, 100,000 tons of bombs in fact, the equivilant of 5 hiroshamas, illegally, on imaginary viet cong bases. they bombed neutral cambodia into the stone age, literaly. the reason behind this was in nixons own words.."to show those vietnamese how tough we really are" ... It was anger against this and fear of it happening again which gave support to the previously unpopular khmer rouge. In a bid bid to win back power over lon nols governmnt, the king seized this opportunity to give support to the rising khmer rouge and the ranks then swelled. when they gained power the khmer rouge would force him out again. if you decide to use this info In your blog, I will back up this with evidence if you like. thanks ben
