Watching the sunset over the beach with a tropical drink in hand is anyones definition of paradise
The busses in Cambodia are actually quite comfortable. The landscape is similar to the Canadian praries, so the roads are straight. And believe it or not the drivers aren't suicidal! They're not driving full speed passing 2 trucks going up a hill and around corners. This is great! They're even air conditioned.......sort of.

Getting off the bus we ignored the guy with the sign with out name on it and got on another motorcycle. We stopped off at the Vietnam consulate to get our Visa, got ripped off (overcharged), not much we can do about it. Then headed to the beach!

It's a stereotypical tropical paradise beach with white sand and turquiose waters. The sun drops down over the ocean for perfect sunsets that you only see on postcards. I must admit I get bored pretty quickly on the beach. It's beautiful and I love swimming in the warm ocean water. But sitting there for hours and hours on end reading a book, I get pretty bored. Jasmine loves it though! Typical girl haha

The restaraunt is lined with all kinds of resaraunt huts with grass roofs. It's really pretty at night because it all lights up. What

Unfortunatly we didn't get to see the Spider lady but there was plenty for sale on the beach. If they can balance it on their head, it's available!
makes this place interesting is the fact it's in Cambodia. It's a harsh reality one must confront when coming to Cambodia, and it's not easy.

Sitting on the chair almost immediatly we are swarmed with ladies trying to give us maincures and pedicures, selling us cold drinks, fruit, lobster on a stick....whatever they can balance on their head, they are selling it!

There's lots of kids selling postcards, books, bracellets etc. We're never alone, and I'd actually get annoyed except the fact that the kids are fun to talk with and joke around with. I have a feeling some of these kids are the owners of the restaraunts sons and daughters so they're not as poor as they make themselves out to be. You can usually tell how they dress.

The harsh reality I was talking about is the real poor kids who are begging. And the amputees are really depressing. The first guy with no arms came up to me, scars all over his body. He said, Landmine! Landmine!! expecting money. I smile and say no no sorry. I want to give to everyone but new people are constantly there and it's impossible to give to

The Seafood BBQ's were deeeeelicious and only $4.00. A bit expensive for us but worth it
everybody. I do try to give to some though. Especially the kids and mothers holding their babies. I can see the pain in their eyes and it's really hard. Sometimes scarey to.
I sat for dinner one and out from the bottom a guy with no legs crawled out. I must've jumped 100 feet in the air! I didn't mean to, but there's no way I'd expect that! haha

Don't let you think that this is a depressing place to be though. It's not. It's a great time and anyone who came here would love it. Absolutley beautiful, the scenery and the people!

We spent 3 nights here. Went touring around the province a bit. The National Park was an expensiv e disspointment. I guess we were hoping to see wildlife like we did in Costa Rica. No such luck. Oh well it was still fun to boat around all day......sort of. haha

We're back to Phnom Phenm for oen more night and then to Ho Chi Minh City (Sai Gon) in Viet Nam. yay!!
