This is a special time of year regardless of your religion, culture or placement in the hemispheres. The light changes, seasonal holidays occur, the international calendar enters a new year and people everywhere are inclined to take a break from work or at least celebrate something, often centered around family and food, during the late days of December.

Facebook has kept us (thankfully) in touch with family and friends from home who are in the full throes of the preparations and celebrations of Christmas and New Year. Having been in 4 countries in the past couple of weeks we are witnessing the customs and cultural ways of expressing what is important at this time of year.

With the primarily Buddhist population and the heat in Cambodia, our holiday season will be different from normal and we invite that with open arms along with a pang or two of thoughts of home. We will spend Christmas Day at Angkor Wat (a Hindu temple built in the early 12th century, the largest religious complex in the world and a World Heritage Site) experiencing the wonder and inherent potential of humankind and our spirituality.

We have seen and experienced so much this past year
and are filled with gratitude and love for our family, our friends and the many lives that have touched us.

May this season bring you joy, peace and the wonder of our world in all its forms.

Much love to all, Donna and Jim

Much happiness and warm hugs to you both. We welcomed the solcist in Whistler BC with our family together, enjoying the 72 cms of snow received in 48 hours, the crisp mountain air and the lights of the Village. Lights seem to be one of thos
e often important cross traditional elements of wonder and warmth. May you find your way, lit by the light of those around you and your own compassion and purpose togeher. Wouldn't that alone, be enough to fuel peace and wonder in the world!
