Alright bloggers,
I thought i better write another blog, as we have now been in Siem Reap for 5 days and have done so much...I started to write this yesterday, but had to dash so finishing it off today. We are just sat now waiting for a bus to take us to the capital of Cambodia, pom Phen...(i've probs spelt that wrong!)
So from where we left off the other day, we got back from our bike ride and all had a 2 hour siesta. Once we had done this we all went out for some food. We went to a mexican restaurant and stuffed ourseleves, was really nice food. we had a couple of beers and then headed back to bed. the good thing is we have satelitee tv in our rooms, so every english football game is on, and i mean every english football game...!
Just as I typed the above paragraph, our bus turned up, so it is now Tuesday I am writing this...!
So, the next day (Friday) in Siem Reap, we purchased a 3 day ticket to the temples of Ankor Wat. We hired a tuk tuk for the day for 13
dollars and they drove us to the temples. We ran out of petrol on the way, haha so stopped at a stall by the road and got some Jonny Walker Red, see the pic haha! We started at the main temple of Ankor Watt, which I must say was absolutely amazing. See the photo's, it was so so stunning and the arcutectuire was awesome. Considering the temple was hundreds of years old it was spectacular. It took them 37 years to build this particular temple. We had a guide who took us around, showing us the history. We climbed to the top of the temple, very very steep stairs but the views were stunning. I got my pic take with a monk, which was pretty cool. We also said some prayers with the buddists...Once we had seen this temple we went for lunch at a cambodian stall, loads of kids piled on us again as soon as they saw us, trying to sell us things...! We ate some food and then all gave them some money. I got some postcards, braclet, fan and a fridge magnet for Nana. The kids were so happy when we gave them money, its really
bad I can ignore tuk tuk drivers, beggars, everybody apart from the little kids...there so cool!
We then got taken to the next temple which was where they filmed Tomb Raider, was also very very amazing, see the pics also. Its was absolutly baking aswell, so the fan came in handy. Zac, James and Liam had cycled in on bikes and we didnt see them, but Danny and Sam went back in there tuk tuk after this temple. Adam and I then did the last trail of 3 temples, through the woods, this was really cool. again see the pics, words can't describe how amazing it was... That night we went for pizza always nice to have a western filling meal...We had some beers, and then bed...
The next day we all got up and Me, Zac, Liam and James all took bikes and cycled to the temples again. We went round the Tomb Raider Temples again and then the 3 boys did the trail through the woods. I chilled in the shade for an hour. Then we cycled back, totally hot and totally hardcore, I said to myself im not doing this again...! Then when we got
back we all went out for the Man UTD game, they won the league so everybody was loving it...apart from me stuck in the middle of 6 Man UTD fans...! We then went for a meal at a really really nice place to eat that somebody had recomended to Adam, was awsome food and only 8 quid each with beers. Then we watched the FA cup final, not good, as Man City won...Then Me, Sam and James decided to go out till the early hours. Bad Idea number 2 came along as we got some shots in and then night all went a bit Pete Tong after that...The others all had gone home as they were getting up at 5am for sunset at the temples!
Next day, Sunday we did very little, the guys who had got up for sunrise were in bed and the guys who had been out were in bed. Spent the day chilling out...at about 5pm, Me, Adam, Zac, Danny and Liam got a tuk tuk to the temples...We saw the last temple, the one with the trees in the pictures...! More little kids ambushed us getting onto the tuk tuk's and yes again, I
gave then some money and bought some beads...We then got the tuk tuk back and went to try and find an orphanige near our hotel, we couldnt find it which was a real shame. We then watched Chelsea instead and had some dinner at the hotel. We then watched Arsenal get beat again, total joke. The banter is flying and the stakes are high as everybody is in the final stages of fantasy football, so so so close, but hopefully I have both league in the bag...and more importanatly the money!
Next day, Monday we got up and got the Bus to Pong Phen, see start of blog...! Not much to report at the mo, apart from I read a book wardy gave me, The killing Floor, was awsome, did not put it down and boshed it in 24 hours, thanks for coming, 500 pages...I've also got a nasty rash on my arm, just been to see the pharmacy, no funny comments please boys!!!! haha...We are staying in a nice hotel right in the middle of town. Took 6 hours to get here, got here at about 7pm last night. Went out for some dinner and then had a
poke night, I somehow managed to win this...haha, get in, 25 quid in my wallet...then finished my book
Today we got up and have just been wandering around. We are going to the killing Fields and the Genicide museum tomorrow. The grand palace was closed today so we could not go, we just went to the museum. Was ok, not that much in there just loads of buddha's and gave some kid 1000 reel who was begging at the entrance, she ran off screamming...! only 20p, haha...We didnt get up till 13:00 as were all tired from travelling yesterday...Nothing else to report, apart from just saw an elephant walk down the street past us, random...! Speak soon, hope you all good...
