We rose at 4.45pm for our driver to take us to the sunrise at Angkor Wat.
Angkor Wat is the biggest religious structure in the world. It was constructed in early mid 12th Century and architecturally breathtaking. It is a massive 3 tiered pyrimid crowned by five lotus like towers rising 65 meters from ground level. Angkor Wat is surrounded by a moat with an exterior wall measuring 1300 meters x 1500 meters.
Because I mentioned " it was not as big as I thought" Brad will never let me live that down. I was just saying I thought it was bigger, even though it is very big.....
We positioned our selves for the sunrise which was beautifel then headed back to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast we headed back out to tackle Angkor Wat then Angkor Thom and Bayon.
A wonderful, breathtaking, exhausting day in 39 deg heat was had by all... I could go on for hours and hours about all three but will just post mainly photos and a brief description.
