Bananas in the library! So wonderful to be back, feels like coming home! How fortunate I am to have a wonderful but totally different life on two different continents.
Disembarking the plane to the wall of heat and strange sounds and smells, makes you realize right away that you are indeed in Cambodia. I am now finding it very hard to believe that I have been here for 11 days already and arrival is but a distant memory. So much has happened in that time.
I had a very warm welcome at the school and more hugs than I ever imagined possible. Really rewarding that so many of the children remembered me by name. So glad to be back. I will not be doing much in the classroom this time, I have taken on the role of volunteer coordinator, so have spent the week learning all that the job entails. Big learning curve for me in the technology department, but I seem to be getting the hang of it. I will also being doing one on one literacy testing with the beginners, much the same as I did last year. So not as much direct involvement with the kids, but I am taking

They love dressing up in the new costumes that were so kindly donated from Canada the time to spend break time with them to dress them up and take some pictures. So much fun.
We will be on school break this coming week, so I look forward to getting properly settling in my apartment and to getting out and exploring Siem Reap and the surrounding areas. It is Water Festival, the reason for the break, so I hope to attend some of the events for that.
So not an overly exciting post, but will share some of the pictures I have taken.
