Hey Kate!
On behalf of all Aussies, we feign offence at any suggestion that the target of our excavation activities is influenced by the American hegemony! The (land) area of China is 9,326,410 sq. kms while the area of the UK is 241,590 sq. kms. The reason we try to dig our way to China is purely because we tend to be a fairly imprecise lot (did you see the 2000 Olympics opening ceremony?) and have a much better chance of actually hitting China. And because we like a good pork bun. Good to see you had a blast around Burma :) Relish the last leg of your trip!
