Day 23-Tuesday-February 2 After breakfast we met at the dock again at 8:30 and boarded the same boat with Rick and Jeanine. This sheltered market is a very long narrow walkway toward the Shwe Indain Pagoda complex.

This complex of Shan-style stupas numbers 1054 built between the 14th and 18th Century.

These two Pa O women are selling oranges alongside one of the stupas.

At a time many years ago there was probably a Buddha image in this stupa opening.

As many of these stupas were made of sandstone, they have deteriorated as a result of the rains and weather.

As one looks around, all you see is a field of stupas varying in size, style and condition.

This one has a beautiful façade and a Buddha image inside the enclosure.

This one is eroding away, one brick at a time.

They are built right next to each other, not unlike a cemetery.
