There's not a hint of Santa Claus to be found anywhere and that's surprisingly refreshing- even their new year is on a different date so there's no sense that a holiday season and inexplicable shopping frenzy is underway in much of the rest of the world. We were in Paro for... It is difficult for you to imagine the feeling that you get in their gut when you finally fully realized you've missed the boat (as in life). When I look at your life through your camera lens, I realize just how much I have missed THAT bo
at. And unfortunately that boat has been out of the harbor for so long that there is no way for me to catch it now. I honestly wish so much that I could catch that boat, but I am resigned to the fact that I never will and for reasons which I will not type here..... I regret never taking that boat. For whatever journey it would have offered me.This is not a moment about envy. It' is the time when I stop and applaud you both for what you have done with your lives. I know there is no right or wrong way, but there is a way when you balance right and wrong and you two have done that balance. I took the safe and simple right way and all I can do now is look back and wish I had taken a step (or two) in the wrong way to see and experience things that I can only see in your albums.I love you both (yes VIc, public affection being said) and I am so happy for what you have done in this world. You two have truly lived.

Knee problems, and she's still carrying the little Bhutanese guide up the elevation on her back. Oh, wait a minute, maybe that's just juxtaposition!

Vic's probably thinking about the succulent turkey dinner, homemade fudge, shortbread and other goodies that he and Deb could be enjoying if they'd spent the holiday with us. If we were in his shoes, we'd probably look a little pouty oursel
ves!
