To set the scene…
Our trusty vessel, the Marina Svetaeva, was an ice-strengthened 1989 Polish-built, Russian-registered 90-metre passenger ship, recently acquired (previously leased) by Aurora Expeditions. Hi Elizabeth, Loved reading your blog, thanks for all your feedback. My trip commences on the 7th Jan. I think I am geared up for it. So many clothes..... Any suggestions you can give me would be most welcoming. Am travelling on my own as my "friend"!!! pulled out at the last minute. I have downgraded to a tripleshare. Thus saving the difference in cost from when I first booked. US dollar rate being most hurtful to the Aussie dollar over the past 6 months. Hope the others I share with will be able to tolerate me... and vis versa. cheers Jo. .
