A project in South Africa 1

I thought it would be great to tell you about another project a few years ago -- in South Africa. But that will have to wait until the morning. For now I just want to post a poem I have written:

PEBBLES IN A POND
To be a pebble thrown in a pond
PLOP…
Hearing the sound waves of the ripple effect
submerging into the bigger waters
slowly descending
to gently nestle
in the multitude of sand grains.

To be an endlessly rippling pebble
weaving tranquility patterns
in concert with other pebbles,
bringing back the song
into the very heart
of the tumultuous, struggling surf swell…

(It is this strong urge and compelling drive and longing to be part of and to make a difference in the sadness of a poverty stricken and forgotton township in South Africa, that led to a project called THE GIFT OF LIFE. That will follow tomorrow......Good night.)
