Morning day 1 - leaving CapeTown Hi everyone!
Thanks for all you messages!
At last an internet spot to update the blog. Day 10, our first day off, not only have we caught up with our 3 days but we're now a day ahead! It's been hard riding all the way! On average 500 kms per day (they were pulling my leg (which they do alot of) when they said 1.000!!) at 110 kms/hr. Longestt dayy waas 577kms.
The first week was freezing all along the coast until Northern Namibia where we turned East n the layers started peeling off (7 in some cases!!).
On the wildlife side so far we've spotted loads of ostrich (one of which was suicidal n tried to attack johnny moroc n coronel mustard (dad) but they managed to escape in one piece), springbok, warthogs, oryx, baboons, vervet monkeys, hippos our first elephant spotting was yesterday and we saw them again not once, not twice but three times today!
The further we get the more it feels like Africa, SA has a strong english and dutch influence, Namibia feels very german (especially along the ccoast), but now Zambia it's a very different story... We managd to cross the border with not too
much hassle and stopped off in 2 different villages to try and get some lunch on our way to Livingstone we were obviously very unwelcome whites...
Last night we visited the Victoria falls with the full moon (+1) rainbow which was spectacular, and this afternoon we all bungied (the 2nd highest in the world 111m)... I could go on for hours with loads of stories, we have seen sooooo much, but will let the pictures do so...
We're slightly modifying our itinerary, leaving the day after tomorrow - feels strange actually not riding today...
All in all this is a very special and unique experince, I feel extremely lucky to be here, I love the biking, it's a great way to explore.
We are all getting on and the bikes are doing a great job. Johnny Moroc had a slippery incident coming up to Luderitz (awfull town) where his bike's cylinder head base gasket (??) blew, but his skill and great cunning saved the day (plastic metal). Our next day of iss at Luanda National Park, so if possible, will update then.
Over and out for now.
Hope all are well, love from us all!! Enjoy the pics!
